WEEK 10: E-LEARNING COURSEWARE

HELLO!

I will talk about the process of our e-learning project. Before I start, I would like to thank my group member for their patience and cooperation throughout the process. I may not contribute a lot during the process but I'm thankful that I have a good group member for this project.

Firstly, we discuss the topic and the content that we wanted to use for the project via Whatsapp. We mostly talk about how to use google classroom because we don't have any knowledge about it as we haven't used it before. We also discuss what kind of question that we wanted to use.

For this project, we are mainly focusing on grammar, preposition specifically. At first, we agreed to create notes and questions for the year 2 students. However, after a few discussions, we decided to change our target students which is year 4.

Preparing questions using google form was quite easy even though this is my first time using it. Our lecturer for this subject also helps us by sharing how to utilize the google form. It was quite helpful for me to understand how to use it and explore more about google form.

I learned a lot of things throughout this project and I also got to refresh my memory about the basic grammar rules. Also, taking this subject helps me learn a lot of courseware and the models.

This going to be the last blog post for this subject and I'm thankful that I got to take this subject this semester. That's all, thank you!

WEEK 9: LIFE IN QUARANTINE

Hello everyone, right now I'll be talking about my life in quarantine and how I cope with it.

Due to the pandemic issues, we all are required to stay at home. Some are starting to work from home and some are starting taking online classes. It is not easy to adapt to this situation because everything is new to us. Also, I'm sure not everyone can keep up with their work and it taking a toll on their mental health. It is quite stressful for someone who is not used to staying at home for so long.

However, it is a different case for a home buddy, like me! I prefer to stay at home rather than going out because I'm used to staying at home since I was young, so staying at home is not new to me. I am not really a productive person because I usually procrastinate when I am at home, waking up really late, and finishing my assignments last minute are some of the things that I mostly do. It's a bad habit and I know that. 

So, I decided to plan what I'm going to do the whole day in my bullet journal. This way, I can keep up with my work without feeling stress and ensure that I wake up early in the morning without feeling guilty of not continuing my sleep. Yes! I do feel guilty when I didn't continue my precious sleep because I feel like there's no reason for me to wake up early in the morning during this quarantine period.  

Journaling on my bullet journal helps me a lot to stay productive because I get to plan my activity. I also get to write what is on my mind in my bullet journal. It helps me stay on track with times, day, and date (I have the tendencies of forgetting the date of the day) because I write in my bullet journal every day. Decorating my bullet journal makes me feel accomplished because doing something creative takes a lot of effort and hard work especially for someone who is not creative like me, hence I feel accomplished if my bullet journal is pretty and neat.

WEEK 8: Reflection for Instructional Design

Hello,

On this week, we learned about the Instructional Design and its models. So what exactly Instructional Design is? Instructional design is the process by which learning products and experiences are designed, developed, and delivered.

These learning products include online courses, instructional manuals, video tutorials, learning simulations & etc. The process consists broadly of determining the state and needs of the learner, defining the end goal of instruction, and creating some "intervention" to assist in the transition. The outcome of this instruction may be directly observable and scientifically measured or completely hidden and assumed.

There are few models of Instructional Design such as ADDIE model which is an acronym from five phrases, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. 

There are few more models but will be presented next week.

Week 7: Video Animation Assignment

Hello!

This week were assigned for a new assignment which required us to create an informative or persuasion animated video. The video should be created by using online video maker or creator like Animaker & Powtoon.

It was a group assignment so we discuss about a topic in respected group. My group chose a topic about the negative and positive side of social media and the title for our assignment is Social Media: + or -?

We discuss about the content of the topic and what to put in the video. Our lecturer also help explain to us about the video flow since most of us still confuse about it.

I think our current assignment is quite challenging because we have to create a video with group members but what bothered me was that we might clash in terms of opinion but I hope everything will be fine.

WEEK 6: AUDACITY

Hello!

So, this week we learned how to use an app called AUDACITY. Our lecturer taught us how to edit an audio for our podcast assignment.

WHAT IS AUDACITY?
Audacity is a free and open-source digital audio editor and recording software. This software available not only for Windows but also available for macOS, Linux and other Unix-like operating system.


Alright, this week we were asked by our lecturer to provide any a 10 second audio before class. The audio we provided were used to practice and learned how to edit audio using the software. Personally, I think this software is a bit confusing for a beginner like me.
Our lecturer taught us the basic of editing the audio and when to apply some editing tools.
Example: how to cut the audio and where to paste the audio we wanted but not sure how to use the tool.

Our lecturer also taught us how to layer our audio using background music. She taught us about the volume of the background music, if we wanted to use it for our podcast the background music shouldn't be too loud. She also reminded us to choose the music wisely to avoid copyrighted issue.

Week 5: Podcast review

Hello,

On the previous class, we learned about podcast. So what is podcast? Podcast is basically a platform where people talks, share some stories & etc. There are so many genre in the podcast so you can choose any genre you prefer and give a listen.

It is a large platform and there are so many topics that you can choose to listen. One of it is audiobook; if you are lazy to read a book but you want to know about the content, you can listen to the audiobook version.

You can listen to podcast through Soundcloud, Spotify or Youtube and many more.

This week, we have to listen and review a podcast from podbay.fm. There are numerous channel or account with so many genre of podcast that we can listen to. So, I chose a podcast from DIVE Studios which also available on Youtube and Spotify. 

This channel discuss about topics like family, friendship, how to get through things in hardship and a lot more from various speakers. Most of the speaker of this podcast are English speaking singers based in South Korea.

Week 4: What is Computer Mediated Communication?

This week we learned about Computer-Mediated Communication or CMC.



What is Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC)?
Computer-mediated communication (CMC) is a process in which human data interaction occurs through one or more networked telecommunication systems. A CMC interaction occurs through various types of networking technology and software, including email, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), instant messaging (IM), Usenet and mailing list servers.



CMC, is a process through that people can interact, exchange, perceive information, culture, thought, ideas, history, knowledge, mores and social issues with each other via computer medium networking by tools E-mails, Blogs, Wikis, Chat rooms, audio and video conferencing without considering various perspectives of CMC studies.CMC technology saves time and money in IT organizations by facilitating the use of all communication formats.

In the recent decade, the social and cultural transformation and even social interaction are influenced by computer and internet.
